Employment

All submitted applications for employment will be held by the Bristol Police Department for one (1) year after the date of submission.  All applications older than one (1) year will be destroyed and considered invalid.  Anyone wishing to be considered for an open position must have a current application and questionnaire on file.

 

The Bristol Police Department will not consider any applicant who submits an incomplete application.  All information on the application and the accompanying 28 page Questionnaire must be fully answered and/or fully explained.  If a question does not pertain to your specific situation, place “N/A” (not applicable) on the answer line.  For example: “Please list military service dates, location, and duties”.  If you did not serve in the military, an acceptable answer would be “N/A”.  Do not use “N/A” to avoid answering questions.  All questions that ask for further explanation must have sufficient explanation to assist administration or the background investigating officer full detail to understand your answer.

Position: Mounted Posse

Requirements: You need to be at least 21 years of age, have a valid drivers license, a high school diplopma or GED, no felony or domestic violence convictions. You also need to be able to pass a written test, physical test, and an extensive background check.  To be a member of the Mounted Posse, you need to provide your own horse.  This is a volunteer position and unpaid.
